It was a very good thing that the Tigers Manager had no plans to bring in closer Joe Nathan after the eights inning last night.  Pitcher Max Sherzer would have to have been pulled off the mound.  The pitcher was on fire , when he entered last nights game, Max had never thrown a completer game in  178 Career starts.  Sherzer walked off the mound in the 8th inning with only 99 pitches under his belt and the manager knew the reigning  AL CY YOUNG winner still had plenty in his tank to close it out.   That's exactly what he did.  Yes, the Tigers Won!   Getty Images
