It came from CZECHOSLOVAKIA. "Budweiser" is a noun describing something or someone from the city of Budweis in Southern Bohemia, a part of present-day Czechoslovakia. In the 1800's, two breweries were founded in that city and made beer which they called "Budweiser," both being beers from the city of Budweis. In 1876, American brewer Anheuser-Busch began making beer, calling it "Budweiser".
