Warmer Weather Brings Thoughts Of Mackinac Island
With temperatures hitting the 60 degree mark this week, many of us start to think of those wonderful days spent on Mackinac Island. The Island is also gearing up for the thousand upon thousands of visitors that it welcomes every spring and summer.
Old traditions on the Island will continue and some new as well. The Arnold Line ferries will be offering alcoholic beverages for your ride across, Arnold representatives say that is so your relaxation will start from the moment you park your car.
The Grand Sushi will open near the Grand Hotel's Gate House restaurant this spring. Chefs will be preparing sushi starting the first week in May.
The 68th Lilac Festival takes place June 3rd through June 12th, The Fudge festival will be August 19th to the 21st.
If you have been lucky enough to have been a visitor to the Grand Hotel, this summer you many notice a slight change. The 600 foot porch is getting a bit of a face lift this year, but
it will still be filled with comfy chairs and 260 planter box’s that will be filled with beautiful red geraniums.
Get your day timer out and start planning your trip to the magical island now.
