A plan to build more than 350 homes on what is now the Walnut Hills Country Club has residents who live near the golf course concerned and revisiting plans to purchase the property.

According to the Lansing State Journal, more than 45 residents submitted letters to the township planning commission in advance of a meeting held Monday where a rezoning request that would allow for higher density housing was discussed.

For the rezoning request to succeed, the planning commission must make a positive recommendation to the township board.  The township board would make the ultimate decision on the request.  The planning commission is expected to revisit the request at its Feb. 27 meeting.
