Losing a Pet…It’s Too Hard
I love animals but it hurts too much to have pets.
Just found out our dog doesn’t have long to go. He has congestive heart failure; pulmonary effusion. Simply put, his heart is too big. He has a thick layer of fluid around his heart and in his lungs.
The meds we’re giving him helps draw fluid from the body – lungs and heart - but it cannot repair the heart.
It’s always hard to lose pets – they love you UNCONDITIONALLY whereas humans love you under certain conditions.
That’s one of the most important things we can learn from pets. Period.
