So this afternoon, if your in Lansing and you hear sirens going off THERE IS NOT A TORNADO.

Authorities are asking Michigan residents to join them and take part in this tornado drill.  That drill is set for 1pm this afternoon and yes,  you will hear sirens going off.

This drill is to encourage  all residents to be prepared for a tornado , and to know where to go in their home or office if a tornado warning is sounded.

If you need a quick refresher course.....find the lowest place to take cover or find an interior hallway that is away from windows and outside walls.  Having an emergency supply kit on hand is also recommended, that kit would hold a three day supply of water and food, a flash light should also be in that kit.

So sirens go off at 1pm this afternoon for a State wide tornado drill, and yes, it is only a drill.
