Taylor Swift, known as the country darling has officially gone pop.  Her fifth release, 1989, due Oct. 27, is her first documented official pop album.

Taylor Swift told the crowd of hand picked fans at the top of New York’s Empire State Building, where she hosted her much hyped Yahoo live stream Monday evening.

Taylor Swift has had so many great hit songs including “I Knew You Were Trouble” and “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together Again.”

Does anyone still think of Taylor Swift as a country artist anymore?  Fans may just need to hold judgement until they hear the rest of 1989, named after the year she was born and inspired by late 80′s pop.

Fans have been talking about Swift’s Yahoo live stream since she dropped a series of cryptic clues about it on Instagram two weeks ago.  She officially made the announcement on Twitter last week.   Below, enjoy a Taylor Swift song video!
