The Mayor of Lansing announced a relief effort to help hurricane damaged Puerto Rico.  Mayor Virg Bernero announced that the City of Lansing will be joining  forces with the Lansing regional Sister Cities Commission to raise money for Puerto Rico Hurricane Maria Relief.

All funds raised will be directed to the National Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce.  The Chamber has used donations to send satellite phones, food,medicine, generators, even doctors to the area.

According to WILX-TV 10, 100% of the money collected will go to helping the victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.  If you would like to help out, contribute what you can, click on the above link for more information.
