Summer Solstice Jazz Festival Friday and Saturday

The Summer Solstice Jazz Festival opens this weekend and is always a welcome event.  It is the first of many free outdoor music festivals in the Lansing area.

The Jazz Festival runs today and Saturday, June 22-23 from 4-11 p.m. both days.  A collaboration of the City of East Lansing, Wharton Center and the Michigan State University College of Music.

Enjoy a blend of local jazz artists, acts from Detroit and internationally known groups as well.

One of the headliners will be jazz singer Sunny Wilkinson, a Lansing favorite for 26 years, but with an international reputation.  Here's more from the Lansing State Journal.
