I really love all the great ideas and fun festivals that are happening in Detroit, and those are not just in the summer.

The North American International Auto Show is always a big draw for Detroit, and this year the 2018 Meridian Winter Blast Festival will be going on at the same time.  If you go to the auto show, you will then get free entry to the festival that runs January 26th to the 28th.

Festival organizers try to make their festival better every year by using new ideas, and this year will be one of the best.  They have partnered with Boyne Mountain and the Highlands to offer the opportunity to bring skiing and snowboarding  to the Winter Blast festival for the first time.

City Slopes will take over Cadillac Square and will even have a beginners bunny hill.  There will also be taller slopes for those with more experience.  This is really an exciting thing, bringing skiing and snowboarding to the Detroit Winter Blast for the first time.

If you work up an appetite after all that exercise there will be a big line up of food trucks offering a lot of different food choices.

The festival begins Friday January 26th, and really sounds like a 'do not miss' event.
