Multiple Lansing-area school districts elected to close Friday on Thursday as a winter storm passed through the area.

Forecasters predicted the storm will dump three inches of snow across the region Thursday night and early Friday. Blowing winds were also forecast, making visibility low and travel potentially perilous. Temperatures are expected to remain well below freezing, and even dangerously cold at times.

By 10 p.m. Thursday, the following local districts had already called school off for Friday:

  • Charlotte
  • Dansville
  • East Lansing
  • Eaton Rapids
  • Grand Ledge
  • Lansing
  • Okemos
  • Potterville
  • Stockbridge
  • Waverly
  • Webberville
  • Williamston
