According to the Lansing State Journal, after 15 years, the Schuler Books & Music store at Eastwood Towne Center announced Friday that it will close.

Co-owner Bill Fehsenfeld said, the bookstore will close in early February at the end of its lease.  Bill also said the business has been good, its been sound, but it's a real estate issue.

Fehsenfeld said real estate taxes increased when mall ownership changed a few years after they opened.  Those taxes are quadruple what they pay at their Okemos Store.

Bill and Cecile Fehsenfeld founded Schuler Books & Music in 1982.  The Schuler Books locations in Okemos and Grand Rapids, as well as the Nicola's Books location in Ann Arbor, will remain open.
