Powerball Jackpot Stands at $550 Million for Saturday’s Drawing

Are you ready for Saturday's Powerball Jackpot drawing?  No winning tickets were sold for the $460 million Powerball drawing up for grabs Wednesday evening.

So now the jackpot jumps to an estimated $550 million for Saturday's drawing.  According to WILX-TV 10, that would make it the nation's 8th largest lottery prize ever.

The odds of winning are one in 292.2 million.  Do you remember that famous quote from Jim Carrey's part in the movie Dumb and Dumber?  He said "so you're saying there's a chance.?   I would say chances of winning are stacked against you!

But why not go for it!  The $550 million prize refers to the annuity option, paid over 29 years.  The cash prize would be almost $348 million.
