Northbound Lanes of U.S. 127 Will Be Closed This Weekend

If you're heading north this weekend, be prepared for a detour on U.S. 127.  Part of a major Lansing thoroughfare will be closed entirely this weekend so crews can fix crumbling concrete.

All northbound lanes of U.S. 127 will be closed between Interstate 496 and Lake Lansing Road beginning at 9 p.m. Friday and continuing until 7 a.m. Monday.

MDOT spokeswoman Kari Arend said, by closing it entirely, we think we can get it all done in one weekend if the weather cooperates.

Kari is asking that people plan extra time if they are traveling through the area this weekend and consider an alternate route based on their destination.  The Lansing State Journal has more information.
