Jim and Kiley Hilligan invested just over $400,000 to transform a former auto repair garage and used car dealership at the corner of West Grand River Avenue and North Water Street in Portland into the ConfluxCity Brewing Company.  The brewery is set to open Friday.

The business name is a play on the word "conflux," which means a flowing together of two rivers or a coming together of people.

ConfluxCity Brewery Company will offer 12 craft beers on tap that are brewed on site.  It's for IPA lovers and people who like a little bit of a kick.

The newly renovated property includes a 1,200 square foot covered, open-air seating area that's been added to the front of the building.  Here's more from the Lansing State Journal.
