Americans are so concerned about fitness that 45 percent would put on a device or use an app that monitors all aspects of their health.

That's the surprising finding from the latest poll which analyzed the responses of more than 10,000 adults in 28 countries.

Overall, 70 percent of people globally want health monitoring technologies while 50 percent already own something that give them greater awareness of their own well being.

There is enormous potential for those brands able to help consumers make smart decisions about caring for and maximizing the value of their most important asset:  themselves.

But still, forty percent of respondents are worried they'll compromise their privacy with health monitoring wearables or apps.
