According to WILX-TV 10, road repairs on I-96 are going to cause new traffic flow.  M-DOT wants people driving on I-96 in Lansing to be aware of the new split merge lanes.

That allows three lanes of traffic on one side of the freeway and then the additional lane on the existing bound which is more like a local lane.

That local lane, westbound on 96, will still flow as normal but M-DOT wants it reserved for immediate exiting onto Cedar Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.  Police officers will make their presence felt during construction.
