if you are the type of person who just sits inside the house waiting for winter to be over, well, your missing out on a lot of fun.  Just because summer does not mean the Michigan shuts down, in fact there is a lot to do during winter in our glorious state.

Now through Sunday the 4th check out the Michigan International Auto Show at DeVos Place in Grand Rapids.

The Jaycees in Muskegon put on a winter party this Saturday and Sunday.  This event (I have been told) embraces the cold and snow in our wonderful state.

In Cadillac, starting today it is the North American Snow Festival

The 50th Annual International 500 Snowmobile Race happens in Sault Ste. Marie this Saturday.

At Hartwick Pines State Park in Grayling you can go on the Full Moon Snowshoe Hike.  That happens Friday Night

Charlevoix Shadow Fest is this weekend downtown

There is the Ice Breaker Festival this weekend in South Haven

This one sounds really fun.  The Bells Island Winter Weekend at the Mustang Lounge on Mackinac Island.

....and of course you should not miss out on the Yooper Plaid Fest Saturday at the Moose Lodge in St. Ignace.  That would be a perfect time for me to pull out my plaid Stormy Kromer hat.

Have fun, and remember Michigan is fun ALL year long.
