According to wilx-tv 10, the Michigan Legislature has voted to limit the number of state sponsored license plates used to raise money for groups and causes.

The bill going to Gov. Rick Snyder would also revise the start up fee that groups must pay Michigan to develop a new fundraising plate.

It's currently $15,000.  Under the legislation, the fee would equal the three year average of the state's cost to develop the plate.
