Michigan could become the 33rd state in the country to make English its official language.

Republican representative Tom Barrett of Eaton County sponsored the bill.

He says it would apply to all state documents, records, meetings, and other actions.

It wouldn't prohibit the use of other languages, it would just ensure that English would be used too.  Here's more from WILX-TV 10.
