Oak Park City officials feel that clowns are to scary and I agree!

You can be a ghost, zombie, vampire, Frankenstein….but not a clown.

The annual Boo Bash which is held at the City's community center, put in their public invitations to come and have fun, enjoy cider and donuts, at the trick or treating event.  Kids are being encouraged to wear their costumes, but the invite stressed no clown costumes are going to be allowed.

The event in Oak Park is centered around young children, and apparently in the past few years many clown costumes have been given a very scary and evil look.   Many scary and horror movies are centered around those types of characters.  City officials go on to say that about three years ago there were national incidents in the news where people were dressing up as clowns and scaring people, assaulting them and even showing up on peoples security cameras walking around the house and trying to find unlocked doors.....(noooooooo!)

Looks like I am not the only one, many people have phobias and anxiety about clowns, since the Oak Park Boo Bash is a family & community event they wanted to make it a friendly event.( not a terrifying one with clowns).
