Mason could get its first national chain hotel by next year if city officials approve plans for a proposed four-story, 72-room hotel and conference center on West Kipp Road.

The $7.2 million proposal from Mason Hospitality Group LLC to construct a 44,376-square foot combination Main Stay Suites and Sleep Inn, was announced on the city of Mason's Facebook page Friday.

It would be built on vacant property on the north side of west Kipp Road, west of US-127.  This combination is the perfect fit for Mason's business travelers during the week and leisure traveler during the weekend.

Mason Area chamber of Commerce executive Director Doug Klein said the need for a hotel is driven by the major corporations located in the community.  For more information, click here on Lansing State Journal.
