A developer is proposing to build a four story hotel and retail space at the site of the vacant Howard Johnson hotel on Trowbridge Road.

Boji Group hopes to demolish the two story motel at 1100 Trowbridge Road and build a Springhill Suites, a Marriott brand.

The development, which would cost roughly $12 million, is near Woody's Oasis, Trowbridge Lofts and Fresh Thyme Farmer's Market.

According to the Lansing State Journal, the plan calls for a 14,774 square foot hotel with 88 rooms, a swimming pool and a fitness center on the first floor.
