According to WILX-TV 10, with so many people expected to travel around the state for Labor Day, efforts are underway to remind drivers of a very important bridge closure.

M-DOT is putting the word out on its electric signs in Mid-Michigan, telling drivers the Mackinac Bridge will be closed for six hours on Labor Day.

This year, the walkers will still use the northbound lanes, but the southbound lanes of the bridge will be open only to the shuttle buses that transport walkers from one side of the bridge to the other and emergency vehicles.
