Loch Ness Monster is Up for Election

It's finally happened.

The Loch Ness Monster is now up for nomination to be Scotland's Official National Animal. Can this be the first time a fictional beast has even been considered to be an Official National Animal?

I guess it's not so weird, since the current Official National Animal is a unicorn. As one poster commented, "What will be next - Japan's national animal will be Godzilla?"

But y'know, I have no problem with that...the Loch Ness Monster very well could be Scotland's most famous attraction. So why not have fun with it?
