Lions Fans Say Sad Goodbye To A Favorite
Many had speculated that it would happen, however that does not lessen the sadness.
Calvin Johnson, a.k.a. Megatron, has decided to retire. The 30 year old has played with the Detroit Lions for 9 season and is the best receiver in Lions franchise history.
Johnson announced his retirement from football yesterday in a statement released by the Lions, not a flashy press conference, that would not be his style. Lions management announced that his contract matters were settled to the satisfaction of the parties.
The Detroit Free Press said Calvin Johnson released a statement that read" I along with those closest to me, have put a lot of time, deliberation and prayer into this decision and I truly am at peace with it.
Mighty Megatron, you will be missed.
