A U.K. man who wrote a letter to Santa more than 60 years ago has been located thanks to social media.  Lewis Shaw, who is a contractor, posted a photo of the note, written by a young boy named David.

Lewis posted the photo on Facebook after finding it while demolishing the fireplace of a house in Caversham, Reading, Berkshire.  The letter was in a pile of rubble from the chimney.

The letter reads, "Dear Father Christmas, Please can you send me a Rupert annual, and a drum box of chalks, soldiers and Indians, slippers and any little toys you have to spare, Love David."

Shaw said, "We just looked at it and were taken back because it was so humble.  It is pretty special because it's not something you'd see today."

Shaw who is 24 years old, spoke to neighbors who have lived there since the 1930s.  They were also able to give him David's surname, which he then searched on Facebook.

He said, "We found him with the help of the elderly lady next door.  David now lives on the other side of Reading in Tilehurst and the local online paper Get Reading has arranged for us to meet him.
