The city of Lansing is planning to move its offices to the former Lake Trust Credit Union headquarters on the southeast corner of Capotol Avenue and Lenawee Street.

Bernero said the move from 124 W. Michigan Ave. would cost between $25 and $30 million.

Renovating City Hall could cost between $50 and $60 million.

Most city departments are located in the 10 story, 189,000 square foot building on Michigan Avenue, which was built between 1955 and 1958.  The police station and 54A District Court would remain in the building while most departments would relocate.

Bernero plans on elaborating during his State of the City address on Tuesday night.   Here's more from the Lansing State Journal.
