Lansing’s American Fifth Spirits Wins Gold Medal

American Fifth Spirits and Distillery's bourbon is bringing home a gold medal from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

American Fifth Spirits Bourbon won the gold in the "Craft Whiskey" category.  American Fifth was the only Michigan distillery to win a gold medal in the competition.

The event featured 2,469 spirits entries from around the world.  The competition awards its gold medal to "exceptional spirits that are near the pinnacle of achievement."

All spirits are tasted over four days, through controlled blind tastings by experienced judging panels.  American Fifth Gin also was awarded a bronze medal in the gin category.  Here's more from the Lansing State Journal.
