The city of Lansing is trying to sell the closed Waverly Golf Course at West Saginaw Highway and Waverly Road to a Grand Rapids developer.

The purchase agreement doesn't specify the developer's plans for the site.  Since the 121 acre site is in Lansing township, the city won't be able to make money from taxes collected from the site.

Waverly golf course was shuttered in 2007, and city residents voted to authorize its sale along with the adjacent Michigan Avenue Park in 2012.  Click here on the Lansing State Journal for more information.
