Lansing's own Earvin "Magic" Johnson is bringing star caliber talent to Lansing Thursday night in celebration of the Lansing Promise scholarship program.  The entertainment for Thursday's event at the Lansing Center won't be unveiled until the performers take the stage around 9 p.m.

Celebrating the Lansing Promise with Magic Johnson begins at 6 p.m. Thursday.  The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce Economic Club is sponsoring the event for the second consecutive year.

Proceeds from the dinner will support the Lansing Promise, which provides financial assistance for Lansing graduates to attend Lansing Community College of Michigan State University.

Last year's dinner raised $1 million in support of the scholarship program, thanks to significant donations from Johnson and his friends.  The Lansing State Journal has the late
