Lansing Ornaments Expected to Return for 2019 Holiday Season

According to the Lansing State Journal, Lansing's iconic stack of red holiday ornaments that has been displayed downtown for a decade are expected to return for the 2019 holiday season.

One of four ornaments that was damaged when a vehicle clipped it early Sunday morning will cost up to $3,000 to be replaced.

"We will get (the ornament) fixed and make the entire stack look beautiful for next year," said Mindy Biladeau, Downtown Lansing Inc.'s executive director.

The ornaments, which have been taken down, have been displayed inside a roundabout at Michigan Avenue and Washington Square each November and December since 2009.

The Capital Region Community Foundation announced late last year it will invest $100,000 to build a year round, permanent art sculpture at the roundabout.
