Out of the ten top American cities for the most opportunities for black Americans, Lansing was the only Michigan city listed as well as second on the entire list.

Tallahassee, Florida was number one.

In an article from the Lansing State Journal, mayor Virg Bernero says, “I am not the least bit surprised..."I am so proud of the way we embrace and celebrate diversity here in Lansing."

The article also states that Lansing " is one of the most integrated cities in the country and has a number of cultural advantages" and that Lansing "continues to grow in cultural, economic, and educational opportunities for African-Americans."

Well, heck - we knew this all along...it doesn't take a genius to figure out how great our little burg is, right? It's just another of the endless reasons Lansing residents should be proud of their city.
