Hundreds of students, alumni and other volunteers were out Sunday for the annual cleanup of the Red Cedar River on Sunday.

Last year the annual cleanup produced dozens of bicycles, multiple futons, a homemade boat, bike racks, 40 gallon drums, and even a lawn mower.

On Sunday, many volunteers walked both banks of the river, collecting trash in bags.  Others were wading in the water or hauling trash up from bridges.  The Lansing State Journal has the story.
