How to Handle Birthday Party No Show

Just give them an invoice for the cost of the kids part of the party.  No?  Thats what happened to a family in England.  The Sky News reports on msn.com that 5 year old Alex Nash missed a schoolmates birthday party because the family was double booked that day.  After missing the party, what should show up in Alex's backpack?  An Invoice for the cost of his part of the party.  Would you ever do that to the family of the kid who missed your kids birthday party?  I suppose if you plan an elaborate party for your kid that would be a drag, but still on you since you planned the party right?
