When I was a kid, I would spend hours and hours playing outdoors with my friends.  Most of the time I would lose track of time because we were having so much fun playing games or playing softball!  I wouldn't go inside until my mom called out my name several times.

Here in 2014, USA Today broke it down into average hours per week.

On average, kids spend 12 hours per week playing in backyards.  10 hours per week studying, 8 hours playing sports and biking.

Kids also spend 6 hours per week visiting natural areas and 4 hours per week at local parks.

We would all rather see kids playing outside with their friends vs staying inside playing video games all day!
