One of the headlines this morning in the news.  ' SOURCES; U.S intel warning of possible al Qaeda attacks in U.S. Monday".  Just what you want to think about going into the weekend.

This from CBS news out of New York, Sources told a CBS News senior investigative producer that U.S. intelligence has alerted joint terrorism task forces that al Qaeda could be planning attacks in three states on Monday.  Those states are believed to be New York , Virginia and Texas.

U.S. authorities are taking the threat seriously, though the sources stress the intelligence is still being assessed and its creditability has not been confirmed.

The counterterrorism and homeland security communities remain vigilant and ready to defend against attacks here in the United States.  Or is this, as some have suggested, just a ruse to scare U.S. citizens the day before elections.
