The Lansing City Council will conduct a hearing on an ordinance amendment that would allow the Hope Sports complex to sell alcohol.

The council is not expected to vote on the measure until its June 2 meeting.

One council member is hoping to close the matter down and says it will send the wroung message to youth soccer leagues that play at the complex.

Julie Mullin who is the general manager of the complex, said Mid-Michigan Sports Turf already has purchased a liquor license to sell alcohol at the complex and now seeks a city ordinance amendment allowing the sales.
