Are you ready for a spooktacular month of October?  There are several fun things that parents and kids can choose from to make it a perfect month for Halloween activities.

Let's start with Scarecrows galore.  The annual Scarecrow Fest at Frankenmuth River Place Shops is back for a two weekend run.  Activities include pumpkin bowling, pumpkin catapulting, live entertainment, face painting and more.  (Oct.15, 16, 22 and 23)

Next we have the Legend of Sleepy Howell.  It's the 14th year for the Legend of Sleepy Howell festival.  The fun takes place on Oct. 22 in downtown Howell.  Dress in costume and enjoy trick-or-treating at candy stations.  You can also be a part of the Headless Horseman 5K/10K Race and more.

The City of East Lansing's Great Pumpkin Walk happens on Oct. 27 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.  It's a great way for little ones to pick up some treats.  Families may bring their costumed kids to downtown East Lansing to get free door to door treats from more than 50 downtown merchants.  The Lansing State Journal has more.
