Most of us have visited the breathtaking Mackinac Bridge several times.  The Mackinac Bridge has been standing since 1957.  It's one of Michigan's countless sights to see just before you enter the U. P.   How would you like to see a mini version of the Mackinac Bridge?

Now you can, outside the Great Lakes Children's Museum in Traverse City.  The bridge, dubbed "Mini Mac," went up last month and a mural of the Straits of Mackinac began taking shape this month.

A Traverse City based construction company and an Onaway based steel fabricator designed, built and installed the two level, 13 by 20 foot steel bridge.  Visual arts students from Interlochen Arts Academy designed and painted the mural.  The Lansing State Journal has more details.
