Grand Traverse Pie Company Welcomes New GT Beef Pasty

Grand Traverse Pie company rolls out their new beef pasty beginning today.  You can now pick one up at Grand Traverse Pie Company stores.  Available at the company's 14 Michigan locations.

The new GT Beef Pasty features a hand crafted crust wrapped around a filling of ground beef, potatoes, rutabaga, carrots and onion.  Those filling ingredients are all hallmarks of a classic pasty.

If you're not familiar with the pasty, it's a comfort food classic.  The pasty has had a long history in Michigan, and was a favorite of copper mine workers in the Upper Peninsula, because of its portability and hearty flavor.
