It's three days before the official opening of the season at the 390 room, white painted Victorian era hotel with its famous, 660 foot front porch.  The hotel's 700 staffers rushing around to prepare, as they have each season since the hotel opened in 1887.

The Grand Hotel officially opens Friday May 6 for its 130th season, offering guests high class hospitality.  Other Mackinac Island hotels also officially open Friday.

In an address to employees, Grand Hotel President R.D. Musser III told the hotel's 700 staffers the mission is simple:  Strive to be the best historic hotel in the country.  Here's the latest from the Lansing State Journal.
