Chances are you may have already heard this, that the menu is the dirtiest item in a restaurant, harboring about  185,000 bacteria,( which is 100 times more bacteria than what’s on a toilet seat).   Here is another one, the second dirtiest item in a restaurant is not in the bathroom, but it is on the table.

Keep this in mind the next time you reach for the pepper shaker , just how many other people have touched it?  Does it look clean, is it sticky?    Unfortunately, it is not usual for a restaurant to overlook the cleanliness of some items.

A study conducted by ABC News, found on average a pepper shaker’s bacteria count is 11,000.  While some eatery’s collect, refill and wipe down shakers, they are rarely properly emptied and sanitized.

This makes my case for always having sanitized wipes in my purse..
