Ingham County Animal Control is waiving adoption fees for veterans on November 6-9th and 11-12th.  (the shelter will be closed on November 10th in honor of Veterans Day).

The brave men and women who served our country often find transitioning back to civilian life difficult.  Having a pet at home to provide them unconditional love and support can be a source of stability.

The shelters outreach manager Kate Turner says "it feels good to know these animals and people can go on and help each other, and what better home than with someone who has done our country an incredible service.  So, all next wee4k there will be no adoption fee for pets going home with veterans.,

Dogs adopted to Ingham County residents will need to purchase a dog license for $14 dollars.  Veterans must bring  in their military ID to qualify for the no fee adoptions,  also all adoptions are subject to normal approval procedures and restrictions including an adoption application, interview, and proof of landlord permission for renters.

If you are, or know of a veteran looking for companionship,  Ingham County Animal Control might have just what they need.
