The photo gallery above shows the remnants of Fayette in the UP, once a bustling, enterprising & energetic city in the 1800's, known for their pig iron and smelting operations.

The town has no more residents but is now a state park that we can all visit and wander thru the town, with many of the buildings still standing and preserved while some of the missing residences are marked by their stone foundations only.

You can enter just about all of the buildings, furnaces and kilns...many original artifacts and antiques from the 1800's are on display to examine.
