Fallen Firefight Honored with Memorial Highway
Marie Sanborn carefully held her late husband Tim's fire helmet as a section of US-127 was dedicated in his memory Monday.
Marie, her three daughters, their spouses, and three grandchildren, joined members of Clinton Area Fire & Rescue to unveil a sign and officially dedicate the Tim Sanborn memorial Highway, which includes the portion of US-127 from Colony Road north to M-57.
The unveiling took place on the eighth anniversary of Tim's death. A firefighter with Clinton Area Fire & Rescue, Tim Sanborn suffered a heart attack while operating the pumps at a house fire. He died while being transported to a hospital.
