Additional Information

It’s not Spring until the Lansing Jaycees drop thousands of Easter eggs filled with candy and prizes on the Capitol lawn. The Annual Lansing Jaycees Easter Egg Hunt on the Capitol lawn will take place Saturday, April 4 from 10 a.m. to noon on the Michigan State Capitol east lawn, located at 100 North Capitol Ave, Lansing, MI 48933.
This year’s event will have two hunt areas, one for ages 0-4, and another for ages 5 and up. A parent or guardian must accompany children to the event and we ask that they refrain from entering the 5 and up hunt area. The hunt is a mad dash for eggs so we encourage attendees to arrive before 11 a.m. since the actual egg hunt may be over within minutes. “The Lansing Jaycees have had a long history of planning Easter egg hunts. The first one we have on record was from 1958. It feels great that we are able to keep the tradition alive by holding the Easter Egg Hunt on the Capitol lawn again this year.” --- Michael Leeds, 87th President of the Lansing Jaycees
There will be many activities for families to participate in at the hunt. There will be photo opportunities with Sparty, the Easter Bunny, ClickIt the Cricket, and other characters. Face painting, crafts, and live animals from Potter Park Zoo will also be among the activities.
Guests will have a chance to win great prizes such as Easter baskets and gift certificates from local businesses. Raffle tickets will be sold before the Easter egg hunt with the drawing taking place after. Ticket holders must be present to win. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit future Lansing Jaycees community projects.
This community event is made possible by the Lansing Jaycees and numerous community sponsors including: Dewpoint, Robert Dowding Group, Regal Lansing Mall Stadium, Sohn Linen, NCG Cinemas, Velocity Martial Arts, Cravings Popcorn, the Henry Ford Museum, Demmer Center, Tasty Twist, Jersey Giant, Impression 5, Riverwalk Theatre, Pet Supplies Plus of Okemos, Lansing Derby Vixens, the Henry Ford Museum and more.
