According to the Lansing State Journal, voters could end up deciding the fate of three parking lots tied to the Park District development project downtown when they go to the polls in November.

The City Council is expected to vote to place the possible sale of the lots near Abbot Road and East Grand River on the fall ballot when it meets tonight.

The proposal, which would be decided by voters Nov. 4, is connected to the Park District redevelopment plan near Abbot Road and Grand River Avenue intersection.

The Council is required to take up the matter as part of East Lansing's charter.  The charter requires that residents vote on property sales when the property in question is valued at more than $4 per resident in the last census.
