According to the Lansing State Journal, the vacant Howard Johnson motel on Trowbridge Road could be torn down by late May to make room for a four story SpringHill Suites hotel.

The East Lansing City Council approved plans by the Boji Group to build the hotel along with a one story commercial building at 1100 Trowbridge Road next to Woody's Oasis.

The hotel, which is a Marriot brand, will have 88 rooms with a swimming pool and fitness center on the first floor.

The project will cost $10 million.  It could be completed by late 2018.  Here's more from the Lansing State Journal.
