People walked by with kids in strollers and guitar music filled the air in East Lansing's Valley Court Park on Sunday.  People were selling Stone Circle Bakehouse bread at the first East Lansing Farmer's market of the season.

Also available in other booths:  Michigan maple syrup, wild caught fresh fish, herbs, veggies, locally made pickles, apple cider slushes and more.

It's easier than ever to buy local this summer as most communities host weekly farmers markets with everything from fresh grown local produce to local artisans to music.

There are about 300 farmers markets in Michigan.  The farmers market at the Capitol is the largest in the area.  There are between 60 and 70 vendors there.
